Glucksman gallery wedding-Cork

Is there anything more spectacular than an Autumn wedding surrounded by art, books and Jazz music? Imagine the sounds, the sights and the colours… well, you don’t have to imagine because I was privileged to capture every stylish detail through my lens.

Rebecca and Barry are the coolest couple who met at college and they travelled back there to have their Cork wedding ceremony in the awesome Lewis Glucksman Gallery at UCC. Rebecca studied History of Art, so this gallery had some of her best memories of college…along with Barry of course! It made for a perfect fine art wedding.

The gallery was transformed by the stunningly beautiful floral decorations of a flower genius Jill Wild. It felt as though she brought the beauty of Autumn inside for us. She also added incredible personal touches. Rebecca is from South Africa, so Jill added the country’s national flower, Proteas, to the bouquets.

As for the bride, I loved her boho-inspired bridal look on the day. I met her that morning getting ready in unicorn pyjamas and knew immediately that it was going to be a fun day.

Then I saw her in her dress… those wavy locks of hair flowing, her embroidered tulle dress with that hint of peach. Wow! Barry didn’t disappoint either of course with his Navy checked Marc Darcy suit. All of the colours complimented lisensi avast secureline vpn so well and made my job super easy.

The couple and I decided to do a ‘first look’ before their ceremony which gave us some sweet moments to take portraits and to get their reactions to seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day. I love doing this, especially for Autumn and Winter dates, when we lose light earlier in the day. It just adds another dimension to the day, and I think adds to the anticipation of the ceremony.

The ceremony itself was very creative and family orientated with Barry’s mum singing and Rebecca’s dad playing the guitar for the guests. Oh yes and let’s not forget the Jazz! Rebecca and Barry wanted music to be important on their wedding day and as it was the International Jazz Festival in Cork, they had two bands play on the day including a 9-piece brass band! The buzz of having live jazz music was phenomenal.

The energy of the whole day was extraordinary and became even more magical when we got some exquisite Autumn light outside right after their vows. We went out into the gardens and captured the bride and groom portraits before travelling to the reception at the luxurious wedding venue, Fota Island.

The details at Fota Island were just as, if not more, amazing than at their ceremony. A big shout out to Sandra, wedding coordinator and founder at  ‘To Have & To Hold’ for pulling everything together. Again, the flowers looked gorgeous on the tables with their geometric stands surrounded by candles. It felt very intimate and warm.

Rebecca and Barry got pretty crafty with their table plan too. They enlisted some friends to build bookshelves for them as each table represented a different book that was important to them. It was another great personal touch!

I loved how this amazing couple made every detail about them and their connection to each other, as well as their family. Everything was thoughtful, genuine and beautiful as well as being fun and creating a true party vibe. This is my kind of wedding!
